About Us

Back to Basics Educational Services provides advocate services for children and youth with physical, emotional, behavioural, developmental or learning disabilities and provides support for their parents or caregivers. Our goal is to assist parents and caregivers in finding and obtaining the appropriate services within the educational system for the child with special needs. Limited counselling services are also available.

At Back to Basics Educational Services we are dedicated in helping children succeed in their learning environment. We believe that every student, regardless of ability, should receive an equal opportunity to a full education without sacrificing self-esteem.


Company Profile

Back to Basics Educational Services is a young company with knowledgeable and experienced staff who appreciate and understand the emotional, practical and fundamental barriers facing parents and caregivers of exceptional children. We recognize that these barriers can seem insurmountable when advocating for our special needs children within the educational system. Back to Basics Educational Services primarily services Dufferin County and surrounding areas but is not limited to this demographic. Presently, our client base includes Dufferin County, Peel and the Toronto District.
 


About the Founder

Christina Walsh is a member of the Ontario Association of Education Advocates (OAEA) and is currently the administrator of the OAEA online bulletin boards. She is also the founder of Parents of Exceptional Children Support Network (PEC) in Dufferin County.  She has extensive experience and knowledge in child care and development. For the past three years she has been employed by her local Board of Education as a tutor, including working with exceptional needs children. In the 2005/2006 school year Christina ran an integrated Before and After School Program in a local public school . She is also the mother of four children with a variety of exceptionalities.
